Interplay of Soft and Hard Interactions in Nuclear Shadowing at High Q and Low x
نویسندگان
چکیده
Nuclear shadowing corrections are dominated by soft interaction and grow as function of 1/x more slowly than the single scattering term, which has an essential contribution from hard interaction. Therefore we predict vanishing nuclear shadowing at very low x provided that Q is high and fixed. At the same time, at medium and low Q, nuclear shadowing grows with 1/x as is well known for soft hadronic interactions. ∗To appear in the Proceedings of the Workshop on Future Physics at HERA, DESY, September 25, 1995 – May 31, 1996

On the low-x behavior of nuclear shadowing
We calculate the x dependence of nuclear shadowing at moderate values of Q by using HERA diffractive data. We show that no decrease of shadowing occurs down to very low x (x ≃ 10). متن کاملInterplay Between Lithium Bonding and Halogen Bonding in F3CX•••YLi•••NCCN and F3CX•••NCCN•••LiY Complexes (X = Cl, Br; Y = CN, NC)
MP2 calculations with cc-pVTZ basis set were used to analyze intermolecular interactions in F3CX···YLi···NCCN and F3CX···NCCN···LiY triads (X = Cl, Br; Y = CN, NC) which are connected via halogen and lithium bonds. Those complexes with the role of LiY as halogen acceptor and lithium donor show cooperativity with energy values ranging between -1.97 and -2.92 kJ mol...
متن کاملHadron Interactions–hadron Sizes
Hadronic interactions are successfully parameterized in different models. Those most frequently applied are the Regge parameterization and the geometrical model. In the present paper we want to apply the geometrical picture to different domains of the hadronic interaction. The model used is a very economical model in that it contains only few parameters most of which have a direct physical inte...
متن کاملScaling Variable for Nuclear Shadowing in Deep-Inelastic Scattering∗
A new scaling variable is introduced in terms of which nuclear shadowing in deepinelastic scattering is universal, i.e. independent of A, Q2 and x. This variable can be interpreted as a measure of the number of gluons probed by the hadronic fluctuations of a virtual photon during their lifetime. The shadowing correction grows at small x substantially less steeply than is suggested by the eikona...
متن کامل1 99 7 Cross Section Fluctuations of Photon Projectile in Generalized Vector Meson Dominance Model
We explain that the generalized vector meson dominance (GVMD) model is successful in describing hard high energy processes because it contains expected in QCD Color Coherent Phenomena. Within the model, which reproduces Bjorken scaling and nuclear shadowing for deep inelastic processes, we calculate P γ (σ, Q 2), the probability for the photon to interact with a target with the cross section σ....
